I photographed beautiful baby Mila at 2 weeks old, and she was a real dream for her newborn portraits!
Mila's Mum had discussed with me prior to their photography session how she is of Indonesian background and her culture required Mila to be covered, especially on the chest area. I got my thinking cap on as I usually attempt at least one or two naked portraits of newborn babies with the session time. I wanted to still offer Mila's parents a good variety of photographs, so planned out what I could achieve with Mila being mostly wrapped!

I mixed things up with a few different wraps and headbands/ bonnet to give a variety of different looks for Mila's portraits. Mum and Dad wanted to include pinks and neutrals, so I made sure we had both!
Mum mentioned to me as soon as they arrived in the Kiddy Kats Photography studio that Mila was cluster-feeding (feeding in small amounts and often). Having this knowledge made the session run much more smoothly as I could give Mila to Mum after each set up for a quick feed. This kept her calm and sleepy throughout the session and we were able to achieve a beautiful photo gallery!
Newborn Family Photographs
Mila decided she was going to be awake for her family photographs in Mum's arms! But once we moved onto portraits with just Mum and Dad on their own she fell sound asleep. I must admit that I find it super cute when newborn babies are awake for their family portraits. They can pull some funny expressions which creates natural smiles and reactions from Mum and Dad!
As mentioned, Mum is of Indonesian background and Dad is of Scottish background, so it will be so interesting to watch Mila grow and who she mostly takes after! I think as a newborn she definitely takes after her Mum!
Newborn Awake Photographs
Mila had some awake time in-between sleeping and we were able to capture some cute and funny expressions from her!
Final Order
Mum and Dad took up the 'Mix and Match and Save' offer, which gives them 25 photographs as Digital Files complimentary. They ordered a gorgeous 20x30" Box Framed Canvas for their living room plus the very popular 5 photo collage to put in Mila's room. In addition, they also ordered some smaller prints, and received the USB complimentary. When I received their box frame canvas from my supplier, my breath was taken away with just how beautiful it was! I'm sure they will enjoy this for many years to come!
